1 min walk from the metro and 5 to Tempelhofer Park, this 2nd floor, quiet, bright studio, located in one of Berlin's hippest districts, is the ideal accommodation for short stays. A supermarket is literally across the street. Within a 5min walk from the flat, are shopping malls, two parks, the Kindl Centre for Contemporary Art, tons of international eateries, the rooftop club Klunkerkranich and Villa Neukoelln - a 1910 cinema turned hipster bar.
Due to its conveniently structured space, the ~39 sqm studio is very spacious for a single person but also perfect for a couple. It features a big, very comfortable double sleeping couch, a desk for working with your laptop, a dining table and a fully equipped kitchen with oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, pots, cooking utensils, silverware and... wine glasses. You'll find also condiments (oil, salt, sugar, ketchup, mustard, spices and so on), bathroom stuff (towels, soap, shampoo, toilet paper and so on) and washing liquids, and a basket of fruit on the table. This is not a professional rental service, but my own private home that I gladly share with you. And being a traveler myself, I know very well how annoying and wasteful it is having to buy basic necessities just for a few days spent away from home.
Neukoelln, a traditionally working class district, has undergone a radical transformation in the last decade, and now counts among Berlin's most hip districts. A young, cosmopolitan crowd of international students, artists and hipsters now roams its streets, crowding up its small art galleries, typical Berlin bars and international eateries, side by side with the local - predominantly Turkish - population that originally settled here in the 70s and 80s. This multitude of cultures and subcultures mingle while still maintaining their identities and insofar arguably make Neukoelln - especially its northern part next to Kreuzberg and closest to the center - the most authentic expression of Berlin's postmodern character. Among other things, within a 5 minutes walk from the flat, you´ll find supermarkets and shopping centers, the parks Hasenheide and Tempelhofer - the former airport turned into a one-of-a-kind, open, green leisure area -, the Kindl Centre for Contemporary Art, the artsy rooftop club Klunkerkranich and Villa Neukoelln - a 1910 cinema hall turned into a hipster bar.
The flat´s connection to the public transportation infrastructure is unbeatable. Just a 1min walk away is the U8 subway, which takes you to Kreuzberg in ~4 min to Alexanderplazt in ~11min and Mitte in ~13min! A ~4 min. walk in the other direction takes you to the U7 subway, allowing you to reach the airport in 45min. Additionally, there are several bus-lines stopping around the corner and the circular railway (S-bahn/Ring) is only two subway stations away.
